For my year-long senior capstone project in engineering (SCOPE), I worked with a team of Olin students and Toyota Motor North America to improve the mobility experience for people with ambulatory disabilities using powered wheelchairs.
We worked closely with power wheelchair users to create novel ways to enhance user perception and augment user-chair interaction. Our work spanned user interface design, sensing and control, and mechanical prototyping. A snapshot of our design ideas is attached in a PowerPoint below. Our detailed designs are being submitted for patent review and a full report detailing our work will be released in 2025.
